Clear guidelines to ensure every guest experiences a safe, enchanting, and carefree visit across the park, accommodations, and dining establishments.
All guests must strictly follow verbal and posted safety instructions given by attraction operators. Safety restraint bars and harnesses must close completely according to manufacturer specifications. Minimum height limits are legally binding and cannot be waived:
Efteling is proudly a smoke-free park for the well-being of all children and guests. Smoking, vaping, and using electronic cigarettes are strictly prohibited throughout all queue lines, paths, dining terraces, and the Fairytale Forest. Smoking is exclusively permitted in designated, visually shielded smoking zones marked on the official park map.
Pets are not allowed into the theme park or inside overnight resorts, with the exception of officially certified guide and assistance dogs wearing identifying harness vests. Efteling provides complimentary, shaded day kennels with fresh water bowls directly at the main entrance gate.
Recreational drones are strictly prohibited over park airspace for aviation safety. Handheld filming for personal and family memories is welcomed; loose cameras, phones, and selfie sticks are strictly banned on all roller coasters. Commercial filming requires prior written consent from Efteling Communications.
Shirts and footwear must be worn at all times throughout the park and restaurant establishments. Discriminatory, offensive, or inciting clothing is strictly prohibited. Efteling security reserves the right to deny admission or remove visitors who breach public order without refund.
Validity: Dated theme park tickets are valid strictly on the calendar date selected during purchase. Flexible tickets are valid on any operating day within 365 calendar days from issue date.
Rescheduling Policy: Guests holding dated tickets may adjust their visit date up to 2 hours prior to park opening time through their confirmation email or Efteling Account, subject to seasonal tier rate adjustments.
Refunds & Inclement Weather: Tickets are non-refundable. Efteling operates 365 days a year in all weather conditions. In the event of severe storm warnings, outdoor coasters may be temporarily halted while indoor dark rides, the Fairytale Forest, and theater shows continue operating.
Commercial Resale: Reselling Efteling tickets or promotional partner vouchers for commercial profit is strictly illegal under Dutch law and will result in the immediate blacklisting and invalidation of barcodes at the turnstiles.
Arrival & Departure: Hotel rooms and holiday cottages are guaranteed ready for check-in from 15:00. Check-out on departure day is by 10:30. Guests may access the theme park starting at 09:30 on both their arrival day and their departure day!
Cancellation Conditions: For standard and early-bird bookings, reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before arrival. Between 14 and 7 days prior, 50% cancellation fee applies; under 7 days, 100% booking cost applies.
Tourist Tax: Municipal tourist tax (€2.40 per person per night) is included in published stay rates unless stated otherwise.
Table Holding Period: Table reservations at Polles Keuken, Het Wapen van Raveleijn, Panorama, and Restaurant Kashba are held for 15 minutes past the reserved time before being released to walk-in guests.
Allergens & Dietary Wishes: Efteling kitchens cater extensively to gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, halal, and vegan diets. Please notify restaurant staff upon arrival or add dietary preferences in your Efteling Account.
